Introducing Hera

A record of the day that holds up on inspection.

Care records, medication, incidents, rota, training and governance in one system. Every entry carries who wrote it, when, and what it replaced.

Introductory prices until 31 January 2027. From £60 a month, including a tablet. No per-user fees, and a 6-month trial you can cancel at any time. Runs in the browser, with no app to install.

Hera's Today screen: the day's medication rounds on a timeline, quick actions, and the residents due their 8 o'clock medicines.
The real Today screen, with made-up residents.

One home, one day, nothing reconstructed afterwards

The shift is recorded as it happens, so the evidence exists before anyone asks for it.

The tour

Ten minutes in a home running on Hera

These are real screens from Hera, filled with made-up residents. Tap any picture to see it full size.

  1. 01

Today: the shift at a glance

Staff sign in with a username and see the day's medication rounds on a timeline, what's due now, open incidents and the diary. One tap records the next dose or reports an incident.

    • The screen locks to a PIN when the tablet is left alone.
    • The tablet's battery shows on screen, so a kiosk never dies mid-round.
The Today screen with the medication round timeline.
  2. 02

    Medication rounds (eMAR)

Every dose is recorded against the live prescription: given, refused, or not given and why. Recorded allergies are flagged when a medicine is prescribed and when it's given.

    • PRN medicines warn when a dose is too soon or over the 24-hour limit.
    • Controlled drugs need a witness, who confirms on their own account.
Recording a dose of co-careldopa for a resident.
  3. 03

The resident, not just the record

Allergies, resuscitation status, diet and next of kin sit at the top of every resident's page. Underneath are notes, skin and wound body maps, risks, care plan, medicines, nutrition, family and services.

    • An "About me" page in the resident's own words.
    • Every change is kept, with who made it and when.
A resident's record with allergy banner, resuscitation status and diet.
  4. 04

Care plans that are reviewed, not filed

Care plans by area of care, with review dates, capacity and consent, and a clear prompt when something is missing. Print a plan for a visiting professional in one tap.

A resident's care plan with review date and consent prompts.
  5. 05

    Incidents and handover

Falls, safeguarding, injuries and near misses, with actions taken and a senior's sign-off before anything closes. Events that may need a CQC notification are flagged. The shift handover builds itself from the last 24 hours.

The incidents log with a fall awaiting authorisation.
  6. 06

    Training with certificates

20 in-house courses on the training a care home needs, from fire safety and safeguarding to medication and infection control. Staff take a knowledge check, a senior signs off the practical, and a certificate is issued.

    • Passing updates the training matrix automatically.
    • Expiring training and DBS checks are flagged before they lapse.

  7. 07

Who pays, and what the home is owed

Each resident's services and funding: council, NHS continuing healthcare, self-funder and family top-ups. See the month's income by payer, and any bed days nobody is paying for.

Services and costs: monthly income by resident and payer.
  8. 08

Governance you can show an inspector

Who opened which record and when, confidentiality undertakings, retention review, compliance checks (fire, legionella, food hygiene), and subject access exports a family can actually read.

Information governance: who looked at what in the last seven days.
  9. 09

On the floor, on any device

Hera runs in the browser, so there's nothing to install. Every home rents its tablets from us, set up as Hera kiosks and ready to use, and managers can also sign in from a phone or computer.

    • Moving from paper? Fill in one spreadsheet and your residents, medicines, funding and staff accounts are imported for you.

Inspection

Built around the five questions you get asked

CQC assesses a service against five key questions. The platform is organised so the answer to each is a report you open, not an evening spent gathering paper.

Hera keeps and presents your evidence. It does not award a rating, and no system can. What it removes is the search.

Safe
Medication records, allergy checks, incidents and their sign-off, DBS and training status.
Effective
Care plan reviews with dates, nutrition and fluids, and the training behind the staff delivering care.
Caring
Daily notes in the words of whoever wrote them, contact records, and preferences held on the record.
Responsive
What changed after an incident or a complaint, when, and who agreed it.
Well-led
Access logs, the compliance register, retention review, and a full history behind every record.

Groups and multi-site

One login, several homes, no bleed between them

Most systems assume one home. Hera assumes a provider may run several, and that some may sit under different legal entities.

  • A carer sees their own home.
  • A manager sees the homes in their organisation.
  • A system administrator sees the installation.

Separation is enforced on every request, not hidden in the interface. The sign-in page carries no customer's name, so the URL alone discloses nothing about whose business is behind it.

Security

Care records, treated like care records

UK hosting

Hosted on Microsoft Azure. Resident data stays within the UK.

Access logging

Who opened which record, and when. Subject access requests are answered from that log.

Unattended devices

Hera locks to the staff member's PIN when a device is left idle, and passwords are never stored in readable form.

Retention

Records are flagged for retention review rather than kept indefinitely by default.
